Market Street Gallery (San Francisco) is calling for people around the nation to submit for a show coming up in October 2010 so the show happens just before the November election. This is an opportunity to get your artwork into a premier gallery in San Francisco. It is not a requirement to be a "professional" artist. Please review the information below and follow the instructions carefully.


"PALIN"


We would like to see your visual interpretation of the word "Palin" in an original art piece of any medium (see guidelines below for more information). There is no right or wrong interpretation; we just want to see what you and others around the US come up with. Our objective is to get a visual map of the US from an artist perspective/reaction on the word "Palin", so be creative allow your emotions drive your creation and submit your most powerful/meaningful piece(s).

We will accept and display all submissions and list the artist's name on our website. And we will select 3-5 pieces to include on our promotional material; those selected (with the artist's consent) will get special mention on all promotional materials including the press release.

Submission deadline has been extended to July 31, 2010. The show is scheduled for October 2010. Only submissions postmarked before July 31, 2010 will be accepted in the show.


 GUIDELINES
- Submissions are FREE
- Each artist can submit up to 3 pieces
- Each piece can be no larger than 4"x6" in size (i.e. photo-print, paper, card stock, cloth, canvas, etc.)
- On the back of each piece or on a separate 4"x6" paper accompanying the piece, you need to include:
          - 2 adjectives which expresses your feeling on the word "Palin"
          - Title, your name, city, state
          - Brief description (1 or 2 sentences)
Each piece will be listed for purchase at $100 and the artist receives $60 if the piece is sold. Also, you do not need to frame the 4"x6" piece, we will attach acid free cloth tape so we can pin the piece to the wall to map associate your work with the appropriate state. We will not damage your artwork, the pin will go through the cloth tape.


HOW TO SUBMIT
1. Mail your submission(s) to

2. Also, Send a jpg of your piece to msg.submit@gmail.com
          Include in the subject: "Palin - <your name, city, state>
          The jpg should be 1800x1200 pixels (4"x6" at 300dpi)

3. Include a self addressed stamped envelope (S.A.S.E.) with your submission if you would like us to return your artwork after the show is over. If you do not include a S.A.S.E., your artwork will not be returned, so please remember to include a S.A.S.E. if you would like us to return your work.
