Do I
have to be a "professional" artist to submit for this gallery
show?
You do not have to be a professional artist to submit your work. We are
looking for passionate creative people regardless of your profession; all
artists and "non-artists" are welcome to submit for this high
energy show.
How
will the submitted artwork & JPG images be used?
The artwork and images will only be used for this specific show, but only
with consent from the artist. For artists who are submitting from out of
town, it is important that you include a self addressed stamped envelop (S.A.S.E.)
so your work can be returned. Local San Francisco Bay Area artists will
get dates and times for dropping off and picking up the artwork.
All submitted digital images (JPGs) will be limited to promotional use for
the show & only with the artist's written consent. The artist
submitting the digital image owns the copy rights and Market Street
Gallery & GETBIZI.COM only requires usage for promoting this specific
exhibition.
As a SF
Bay Area artist, can I submit 4"x6" pieces?
Yes, if you are a SF Bay Area artist, you can submit up to 3 -
4"x6" pieces and a larger piece; so you can submit 4 total. For
the 4"x6" pieces, please follow the instructions on the 'national'
page. The 4"x6" pieces will all be accepted in the show and the
larger piece will go through the selection process.
Can
non-local SF artist submit larger pieces?
For this specific project, we prefer to have artist around the nation to
submit work that is 4"x6" in size to make it easy for the artist
to mail. Our objective to to get as many artists as possible to be involve
so we can get a good overall 'response'. We will map out the
4"x6" submissions to the map of the US so we can visually see
how artist around the nation respond to the word "Palin".
If you feel strongly that you can create a very powerful piece and would
like to submit a larger piece, go through the submission process listed
for the SF Bay Area page (click
here). However, the artist is responsible for shipping cost to and
from the gallery. You will be required to be at the opening reception
party too so you can discuss your amazingly powerful artwork.
How
will the artwork be presented?
All large pieces need to be 'finished', fully presentable and ready to
hang. This is a gallery space and we will curate all the different pieces
to allow for maximum viewer appreciation of each piece and the collection
of different artwork as a whole. We present all artwork as if a museum
would; enough space in between the carefully selected pieces.
Even with the 4"x6" artwork from artists around the nation, we
will carefully attach cloth tape to pin each piece against the wall. The
pins will not go through the piece itself, but through the acid free tape
extensions which will be subtle so it does not distract from the artwork
itself. The artwork itself will not be handled with the utmost care and
will not be damaged in any way what so ever.
