Market Street Gallery (San Francisco) is calling for San Francisco Bay
Area people for a show coming up in October 2010 so the show happens just
before the November election. This is an opportunity to get your artwork into a premier gallery in San Francisco.
It is not a requirement to be a "professional" artist. Please
review the information below and follow the instructions carefully.
"PALIN"
We would like to see your visual interpretation of the word "Palin" in an original art piece of any medium (see guidelines below for more information). There is no right or wrong interpretation; we just want to see what you and others around the US come up with. Our objective is to get a visual map of the US from an artist perspective/reaction on the word "Palin", so be creative allow your emotions drive your creation and submit your most powerful/meaningful piece(s).
We will accept up 15 pieces to be displayed in the show and list the artist's name on our
website with special "SF Bay Area" mention. SF Bay Area Artists
who are accepted are required to be at the opening reception; it will be
an energetic and fun party. Our
objective is to compare & contrast the local response with the
national response to the word "Palin".
Submission deadline has been extended to July 31, 2010. The show is scheduled for
October 2010. Only submissions postmarked before July 31, 2010 will be accepted in the show.
GUIDELINES
(SF Bay Area)

Submissions are
FREE
- Each SF Bay Area artist can submit 1 piece
- Each piece can up to (but no larger than) 24"x36" in size
- The medium is your choice.
- On the back of each piece or on a separate 4"x6" paper accompanying the piece, you need to include:
- 2 adjectives which expresses your feeling on the word "Palin"
- Title, your name, city, state
- Brief description (1 or 2
sentences)
- Price
- The piece NEEDS to be presentable (finished) & ready to hang (i.e.
framed, wired, etc.)
- If the piece is sold, the artist will receive 60% of the sold price.
HOW TO SUBMIT

Send an email to msg.submit@gmail.com
which includes the following:
In
the subject: "Submission : PALIN - October 2010 - Market Street Gallery"
- A one paragraph
description of your concept/idea
- JPG of a sketch or
digital rendering of your concept (optional)
- The JPG should be 1800x1200 pixels (4"x6" at 300dpi)
- Link to your website (if
applicable)
2. Someone will review your submission and get back to you within 73
hours. If selected, we will provide you with show details including drop
off and pick up times/dates.
We have limited space for these larger pieces, so we will not be able to
accept all submissions; we will consider all artist works and styles for
possible future exhibits, so do not hesitate to submit your ground
breaking ideas.
Local SF Bay Area artists can submit 4"x6" pieces (as per the national
instructions) and a larger piece, so be creative and let your ideas flow!
